I was inspired to continue painting Still Life scenes after a workshop with Australian Artist, Grace Paleg. I didn’t want to do one that was just a collection of things that meant little to me, so I “raided” Dad’s shed for interesting objects that were relevant to his life. Dad is a retired plumber, gasfitter, electrician, builder etc. and I chose this attractive little motor for a pump. He was sceptical about my intended use of the pump but he’s pretty impressed with the outcome: “Quirky!” Which is me all over, really…
